The sovereign council of SMOKH(Sacred Medical Order, Knights of Hope - Hospitaller Order of Physicians & Ecliassiae), recognizing the importance  of the mission entrusted in our Charter, historically as a voluntary, nursing aid society' in our works among nations, people; the needy, sick, injured and informed; considers that it is desirable that all facilities and immunities for the exercise of our functions in time of peace, should be accorded in the widest measure permissible under the national legislations, as regards our nursing activities.

Recognizing the Final Acts of the Diplomatic Conference, Geneva conventions, July 27, 192 and further ratified 12th August 1949 (Geneva), recorded and deposited in die archives of the Swiss Federation, and copies, certified transmitted to all the countries repreented in the Red Cross Conference, declared the Amelioration of the Conditions of the Wounded and Sick, regarding the conditions and protections of civilians and prolusions laid down by the Geneva Convention governing Aid societies are applicable to all organizations of the Saint John Orders worldwide, including the Grand Priory of Saint John of Jerusalem(Ambulance) in England, the Orders of St John-Johanniter in Germany, and similar nursing Orders in all countries.  Further, that all facilities and immunities for the exercise of their functions in time of peace should be accorded in the widest measures permissible under the national legislations in their nursing activities.

S.M.O.K.H. as a Saint John Order, part of today's confederation of Relief Societies in different countries, acting under the Geneva Convention, carries on its work under the sign of the Maltese Cross, equally measure, to the Red Cross.  Recognizing "There axe no " members of the Red Cross." but only members of societies whose sign it is... The Relief Societies use, each according to its convenience, whatever methods gifts of money and supplies; arrange hospitals, ambulances, methods of transportation of  wounded men, bureaus of information, correspondence, etc. AD that the most ingenious philanthropy could devise and execute, has been attempted in this direction."   (The Red Cross of the Geneva Convention.  What It Is written and published by Clara Barton in 1S7S)
