Studying the human body has always been a passion of mine. I have explored the world and value human connection. I was married for 13 years and have two beautiful daughters. I have travelled the world and have lived on four continents in several intentional communities, growing foods, medicines and learning about human relationship. I am dedicating my time to understanding regenerative culture so that my life and work, in medicine and human relationship, can be part of an honorable legacy.
I studied at University level as a Biology major in the early 1990's for almost 4 years. My Studies were always done from the focus of many different healing modalities that I was also studying. In the late 1990's I began practicing UL Craniosacral therapy, and deepened my knowledge of Ayurveda working as a yoga teacher and therapist at the Growing Edge in Big Sur, CA.
I first visited India, China, Nepal and Tibet in 1991.
I received certificate of 500 hour study from National Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine in 1998, and studied Pancha Karma under Dr Vishundas Kannan of Kerala, India in 2004. I received teachings in Siddha Medicine from Dr Shivaraj and Dr. Charles in Auroville, India. I also studied Marma/Varma with ASIRAM in Pondicheri, India.
In 2010 I began my formal studies in Sowa Rigpa and immediately began replacing many Naturopathic approaches, that I had been utilizing with the traditional remedial measures of Sowa Rigpa.
In the summers of 2013 and 2014 I studied and practiced external therapies of Sowa Rigpa in Amdo, Tibet at a famous all Sowa Rigpa Hospital in Malo, under the direction of his primary teacher Dr. Nida Chenagtsang. My thorough knowledge of various modern alternative healing modalities allows me to understand my clients' journeys of healing and wellness, and offer them practical advice accordingly.
I was certified in the foundation of Tibetan Medicine by Tibetan Medicine Education, a distant learning program organized by Dr Pasang Arya who was the administrator of Mentzekhang, the Dalai Lama's Tibetan Medicine College in Dharmsala, India. He also received certification in the foundation of Tibetan Medicine by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang. I continues to study and review concepts with Dr. Nida when possible.
I have also been trained in several subtle energy modalities of healing, including emotional release of severe trauma. I primarily utilize the Completion Process, an exceptionally effective method taught by Teal Swan for emotional integration, and useful in most disorders..
The dynamic connection of emotions, energy and traditional elemental healing theories supports the use of this kind of healing work in the traditional healing approaches I use..
I was also certified in Chinese Acupuncture Concepts in Indonesia, with Dr. Acu, the overseer of Acupuncture licensing and certification of Indonesia. I also spent several months in a clinic studying with Dr. Mohammad Sahel Ansari, an integrative practitioner of Unani medicine of Pondicheri and Auroville, India.
I have a wide scope of practical and clinical experience with different natural remedies and alternative holistic healing.. I have experience in many healing modalities from Radionics, Reiki, "Soul retrieval", raw food / juicing, fasting , bioterrain analysis, Craniosacral Therapy and Live-blood analysis/observation, to Acupuncture, Ayurveda and Tibetan Medicine. I have apprenticed in the clinics of physical therapists, master Nutritionists, Acupuncturists, and doctors of Unani, Siddha, Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicine(Sowa Rigpa). I spent 7 years living and travelling in South America, Asia and the far East. My studies have taken me throughout Europe, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Nepal and parts of China that were once the country of Tibet.
In addition to my general practice I operate free clinics for persons that are economically challenged, and give public presentations on the history and basic foundations of Sowa Rigpa.

"I love to exercise.
When I met Douglas I told him that it had been at least two years since I have felt physically in balance, been able to exercise or feel a sense of completion."
After taking herbal formulas suggested by him for just three days, I felt a shift and started to feel like myself again. I was able to exercise normally within the first week and I am very thankful - I am recommending my clients to go to him."

"I spent most of my life pleasing people - I felt so good that I noticed other people feeling almost threatened by my level of connection to natural joy, so I began a habit of interfacing myself with others in a way I thought would keep them in comfort. I did a single process with Douglas, and immediately was able to release the control that that part of myself had on my naturally open and happy self. Now that part is accessible and in place only when I decide its absolutely necessary - which is almost never. I cannot believe how good I feel and how simple it was. No medicines or therapies, just a sincere conversation with very insightful questions - I felt totally safe and willing to look at the "landscape" he asked me to consider - and was empowered to come up with my own answer!

"I came to Douglas with skin rash and chronic digestive complaints. He gave me a thorough examination and I followed his suggestions and used the traditional remedies. After that first day of seeing him, my problem disappeared and never returned."
-Aurora Sage, The Netherlands
"I had been battling with a parasite infection for a long time. After a very short conversation with Douglas , I knew exactly what to do - though I never use pharmaceuticals, his suggestion to get modern allopathic medical help and use the specific medication for that specific parasite I had tested positive for made perfect sense to me. I had ben procrastinating and was uncertain, but he explained things clearly and supported his reasoning with common sense. It was easy to proceed with confidence, even in a system of medicine that has so many side effects, but in this case I understood how it was the best choice overall."
"Douglas has been a lifesaver for me. I felt seriously out of balance, and my heart and liver felt completely taxed and threatened. I do not like to go to modern medical doctors, so I sought out his help, since I had found some help in the past through holistic medicine. I had a chronic skin issue that improved, my energy returned, I felt more grounded, less hot tempered and hot, and felt relaxed and found it easier to sleep. My pains went away and even my digestion improved. I am really grateful and highly recommend his ability to see into a patient's life and help guide towards empowered living."

"I met Douglas through a friend of mine. I had been taking a variety of medicine and treatments for the disease I had. I spent a lot of money. After consulting my PCP, I was given the recommendation to go meet a dietician as well. However Douglas, I'd say, is both my doctor and my dietician. He spoke to me for more than an hour during our fist consultation. Thereafter he recommended some traditional medicines of Sowa Rigpa(similar to Ayurvedic medicines) after a thorough understanding of my issue. He also asked me to avoid certain foods. I followed his medicine and diet diligently. I reaped the success in a very short period of time - like less than two months. I still talk to him since I think he has a better idea of my body than any other person, even though we have never met. I highly recommend him to anyone. He is a brilliant Ayurvedic practiioner and by far one of the best I have met in my life. - W. HISHAN DINUK FERNANDO (Sri Lanka & USA)
Meeting with Douglas for a few sessions brought a greater clarity to the subtle energies that needed some attention. We were able to address certain issues I’ve had for years and find clarity on how to balance them in moments. After experiencing the body work and medicines I feel a greater presence in my life. I have a deep gratitude for this soul and all he shares. The more I work with him the deeper I feel safer to journey into my own healing, because of how he helps me to understand what is happening. I look forward to diving deeper. One medicine I received helped me to differentiate between what energies in my psychic sphere are mine and which ones are not mine. This clarity brought a peace to my movements in each day. The medicine also helped to create a space for me to be with my own emotions. It greatly calmed down “the wind” for me. I would greatly recommend building a healing relationship with Douglas.

I highly recommend healing work with Douglas. The bodywork techniques are great and the medicines seem especially potent and give real results! Also the Tibetan modality provides a great way to look at health and get more in touch with my body.

Douglas offers tibetan cupping that has incredible therapeutic effects for back pain. I had very tight back and pain, after a session of cupping, the positive benefits of the treatment lasted 2 weeks+, with immediate relief of symptoms from neck pain that was being caused from my tightness of my back.
I would highly recommend Douglas’s cupping treatment to anyone, he is an expert in his field.

We offer a traditional approach to wellness consultation through adherence to the traditional system of Sowa Rigpa (translated as Science of Healing"). Sowa Rigpa(Traditional Tibetan Medicine), is recognized by the WHO as a bonafide and effective traditional healing art, and is more than 1,000 years old in its current form though it traces its roots of diagnostic techniques, medicines and therapies back thousands of years before that, being influenced by the folk traditions of the early Bon people of Tibet and Mongolia, Chinese Medicine, Unani(Greek Medicine), Siddha Medicine(indigenous healing system from South India) and Ayurveda. It utilizes dietary and lifestyle advice, with internal and external therapies and remedies. It is a holistic system specifically oriented for both body and mind.
"Douglas appeared to be a smart and compassionate person. Hence I trusted in his ability to treat my condition. I was suffering from diarrhea, light headedness and a mild trembling sensation. There was no obvious cause from modern medicine's perspective. He fixed this through Tibetan medicine, massage and acupuncture. Also I was so impressed by these treatments that now I am myself studying Tibetan medicine. He has also helped cure a viral cold, a strep throat and my wife's laryngitis. These things could not have been fixed so rapidly with Western medicine. I have no doubt that Douglas could help cure many illnesses that modern medicine cannot. Also, he is open to using Tibetan medicine as a complementary treatment in conjunction with western medicine or indeed any other therapy."
dr Cormac FitzGerald MD, FRCGPNZ (New Zealand)"
"I went to see Douglas after I had experienced digestive problems for about half a year. I had made major lifestyle changes, including changes in my diet. These changes however, resulted in an imbalanced digestion, and I was suffering from diarrhea for about 6 months, lost a lot of weight, and experienced pain and pressure in my lower bowel area. I had been to several western allopathic medical doctors, done colonoscopy and had investigations for allergies. But no one could find anything. After seeing Douglas, I have never experienced these problems again, my digestion stabilized and the pressure and pain in my bowels disappeared. He is very skilled and carries a lot of knowledge and Wisdom. I have trust for him, he is easy to talk with and be transparent with.
